Free Kindergarten Home Worksheets
10 printable worksheets · US Letter PDF · free, no sign-up
Free printable worksheets with home words for kindergarten. Each worksheet is one room or one part of home life. The child looks at a picture and circles the matching word out of three; the first task on every page is already solved as an example.
All pages are US Letter. The pictures look great on a color printer and on a black-and-white one, so print on whichever you like. Click a page to open the PDF, or use the buttons under it to print or download. No sign-up. The adult who works with the child picks the page by what the child already knows: the rooms the child spends the most time in are a good place to start.

Home words in kindergarten
Home is the place a child knows best, so its words are easy to learn: the child has used a spoon, climbed the stairs and switched on a lamp long before seeing the words in print. The worksheet puts the written word next to a picture of an object the child handles every day. Each page keeps to one room or one activity, and the adult can see which parts of the house the child has worked through.
How to use these worksheets
Every page is built the same way. At the top is a solved example: one picture, three words, the right word circled. Below it are tasks of the same kind, and in each one exactly one word fits the picture. A child who cannot read yet can still do the page: the grown-up reads the three words aloud, and the child points to the right one and circles it. The note at the bottom of each sheet says the same.
Choose the page by what the child already knows; the order on this page is not a sequence to follow. A good way to work is to do the page in the room it is about, so the child can find each object around them. Print on US Letter paper at 100%. The worksheets look great on a color printer and on a black-and-white one: every object is easy to recognize either way, so print on whichever printer you have.
